How about this weather? Anyone who has been in or around NYC in the past few weeks knows how brutal it's been here! Last weekend, The Two adventured outside for a moment to take a few photos before heading to check out the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

When NYC gets cold, we resort to our natural instincts when it comes to fashion. What we mean is: layering! Beanies, leather, gloves, it's all in the details to stay warm and trendy in this season.

Well, hello there! It has been a crazy few months, so much happening! Here is a little update on the Tailored Two...
Aubrey has been working as an assistant designer for Jones NY collection. As her first job out of school, she couldn't be happier. Here's to loving what you do!
Melissa has been consumed by her senior year at FIT and an internship at Theory.  She is loving Theory and stressing hard at school, but it will all be worth it in the end.

In honor of the new year, our resolution is to give our blog the TLC it deserves! More to come soon.

A few weekends back the Two went to Governer's Island for a 20s Jazz Age Festival. We were celebrating our lovely friend's (in the middle above) birthday.  Our day consisted of picnicking, dancing, drinking, all while listening to a live 20's jazz orchestra.  Everyone attending the festival were dressed up in 20's garb, as if we were transported back into the age of flappers and prohibition. It was an incredible experience and we can not wait for next year's festival!

How Two: Style Summer Prints

Yes. We are wearing matching prints. After being roommates for three years, blogging together, shopping together, and influencing one another's styles, we have finally unintentionally reached twinsies status! We both met up wearing the matching print; at first we thought "how embarrassing?" then decided why not roll with it and talk about how we styled a print that we both clearly love.

It's always easier and fun to play with prints in the summer. Of course there is the obvious choice, printed dresses but we opted for printed details. Strong, bold, graphic looks have been an important trend lately, so we opted for styling with black and white to give our outfits the most impact.

It's true, we have disappeared for a while but you can officially consider us back! It is also true that summer is officially here, in NYC anyway and in Aubrey's hometown for a weekend trip. As the weather is heating up, we have fallen in love with the summer trend towards all white. Not only is it practical being the coolest color to wear but it looks so clean and fresh!

School has finished up for the semester and for Aubrey that meant graduation from Fashion Institute of Technology! This is just a quick post before a real update as to what we have been up to.
