Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!" Buddy the Elf.

Well we may not have been running around the city singing but we have certainly been spreading Christmas cheer! We really kicked off the holidays as Santa and a Christmas tree during NYC's annual Santacon. Then a few days later we visited the tree at Rockefeller Center and headed downtown for decadent hot chocolate at Max Brenners. Mmmm....

Also, above you can see the best present we have exchanged for any holiday so far. Best friend hats by Band of Outsiders from the Neiman Marcus for Target collection. Brilliant. Best friend necklaces from back in the day have now grown up to the form of a cashmere blend, super cheesy but we love it, hats.

Don't forget to wish your best friends, family, relatives and everyone you see Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Wishing you all the best!

The interesting thing about this post is, we are essentially wearing the same thing. Denim, button-up, sweater, and statement necklace. This is a true testament to our unique styles. One of the best things for us running this blog is getting each other's opinions on how to dress but maintaining our own look.

In light of this fast approaching holiday, we guess we know we are trying to say we are thankful for you other, all of you (our lovely readers), and for our blog! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello our dear readers,

On September 7th, I, Aubrey Pedersen, got the chance of any fashion designer's lifetime. I got to show my clothing at the Lincoln Center! As you may know, Melissa and I (The Tailored Two duo), have been studying at Fashion Institute of Technology to be fashion designers for the past few years. Last year Melissa told me of a competition for Elle Magazine dedicated to up and coming seniors and seniors who were just graduating. The competition involved designing 5 looks then creating two or three of them depending on the person. Once the garments were completed they were given to the staff at Elle to accessorize and find a model for the runway.

Then, on September 7th there was a runway show at Lincoln Center. It was absolutely surreal to see my designs on the runway. Above the the photos of my looks! What do you think?

Wishing you all a wonderful week,

Aubrey

Our fashion week began with another fun-filled Fashions Night Out. We spent an hour or two strolling through the Meatpacking District, sipping on cocktails, shopping, and catching up with friends. When we happened upon this graffiti wall, we knew couldn't resist a blogger's shot at its prime. All in all, it was a lovely way to start off the week!

This past weekend Melissa went to visit Aubrey in Amish Country, Pennsylvania.  These photos only captured a fraction of trip. Along with frolicking in the wilderness, we ate shoe-fly pie, shopped flea markets, and attempted to pet cows. They weren't too fond of us even when we tried to coax them with ears of corn.

These are the photos from the trip we hope you enjoy them.  Most of all have a superb week!

A Touch of Home Life: Part 2

Tank-Madewell
Belt-H&M
Skirt-Forever21
Shoes-Simply Vera

Who are The Tailored Two?

In part two of home life, I will be talking about myself, Melissa.

My story starts at a small town in New Jersey, where I have lived all my life.  My small town is not very fashion savvy to say the least, however my oldest sister, sparked my interest in fashion. I really stared to pay attention to fashion magazines and began sewing basic skirts and dresses to suit the trends.

I love my family, and friends more than anything.  They keep me sane and support me, even when I loose faith in myself.

This summer I spent time trying to embrace life I went kayaking, fishing, biking, and spent quality time with my sisters and grandmother cooking in the kitchen. I have also landed an internship with Cache, which I commute into the city for everyday.  I am currently still with them and learning so much!

Now I am a junior at the Fashion Institute of Technology, studying fashion design.  It has been a rough road, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.  Life is an open book, and the best chapters are yet to come!
